OUR FEES

Marshall Hall Levy offers an initial appointment of up to 30 minutes at the cost of £144.00 inc VAT (payable at the outset) in respect of all matters.

 

The fees we charge depend on the type of work we are carrying out for you, the complexity and urgency of that work, the monetary value of the transaction/s and any additional risk to our insurers. 

 

Our fees may be charged in any of the following ways or a mixture of them:


Fixed fees – agreed in advance


Hourly rates – an estimation of overall fees will be provided to you at the outset. This estimate will be kept under review and if our estimate changes as the matter progresses and additional information comes to light, we will let you know in advance of incurring any additional fees. Fees may end up being more or less than your original estimate.


Value charges - based on the value of assets which are the subject of the transaction/s – only applicable to Probate Administration

Conveyancing Department

Conveyancing base fees start from £500 + vat for Transfer of Equity, Re-mortgage and severance. For sales and purchases please see below.

Sale (Base Fees)

£0 - £100,000 = £650 plus VAT

£100,001 - £200,000 = £735 plus VAT

£200,001 - £300,000 = £880 plus VAT

£300,001 - £400,000 = £990 plus VAT

£400,001 - £500,000 = £1120 plus VAT

£500,001 and above = Quoted on an individual basis

Purchase (Base Fees)

£0 - £100,000 = £725 plus VAT

£100,001 - £200,000 = £890 plus VAT

£200,001 - £300,000 = £925 plus VAT

£300,001 - £400,000 = £1100 plus VAT

£400,001 - £500,000 = £1250 plus VAT

£500,001 and above = Quoted on an individual basis

Conveyancing hourly rate starts from £220 plus VAT per hour for irregular or complex issues.

Family Department

Marshall Hall Levy offers an initial appointment of up to 30 minutes at the cost of £144.00 inc VAT (payable at the outset) in respect of all matters.

 

Divorce fees start FROM £500 plus vat and disbursements, other matters will be quoted accordingly.

 

Family hourly rate starts from £220 plus VAT per hour

Wiils, Trusts and Probate Department

Wills


  • Straight forward Single Will/Codicil:  £220 + VAT
  • Straight forward Mirror Wills/Codicils: £360 + VAT


Trusts


  • Asset Protection Trust: £1800 + VAT + Disbursements (£7 Office Copy + Land registry fee - depends on value of property)
  • Severance of Joint Tenancy: £250 + VAT + Disbursements (£7 Office Copy)


Probate


  • Grant of probate ONLY = £800 + VAT + disbursements (probate registry fee £300 + £1.50 per Official Copies)
  • Full Administration = Work charged at hourly rate (£220 + VAT) plus value element charged on assets of the estate (1% of property and 0.5% of all other assets + VAT) + disbursements (disbursements as above and any other disbursement information will be provided/agreed in advance of incurring).


Court of Protection


  • Lasting Powers of Attorney (Finance or  Health): £500 + VAT + Disbursements (£82 COP Fee)
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney (Finance & Health) : £600 + VAT + Disbursements (£164 COP Fee)
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney (Finance & Health for couples): £1,200 + VAT + Disbursements (£328 COP Fee)
  • Basic Deputyship Application (Finance &/or Health): £2,500 + VAT + Disbursements
